Activities & Events

In Downtown Carlisle you will find the North Pole where Santa will be handing out candy to all the children. Santa will be located at the School Street Scholar Daycare, 80 School Street. A photo opportunity presented by Images Photography will also be available there. Across the street in front of the Carlisle Superstars, students will be twirling fire batons for your enjoyment.

Kids of all ages will enjoy the elaborate electric train that will be at the Great Western Bank, 100 1^st Street.

Mrs. Claus will be busy in Santa’s Kitchen, (Lovejoy’s Bake Shop, 250 S. 1^st) After leaving Santa’s Kitchen, stop by The Cutting Edge, 290 S 1^st Street, where you will find a Premier Design Rep and also an Uppercase Living Rep.

Open Houses will be at Edward Jones, 90 Hwy 5 and the Goodhue/Nolte Insurance office, 100 Hwy 5. Fiss’, 120 Hwy 5 will also have something special for the occasion.

Other Open Houses will be at Central Iowa Insurance, 120 S 1st St., The Commons, 20 Vine St. and Dee Smith from Ia Realty will be at Jus Chic located at 90 School St.

Watty’s, 30 School Street, will have information on the newly formed Carlisle Area Historical Society along with interesting history information about the Randleman House and gift items to purchase.

The courtyard next to the VFW will be brightly lit with all kinds of Christmas decorations. Be sure to stroll by and take a look.

Kearney’s, 60 School St will be offering soup samples and don’t forget the Soup Supper at the American Legion starting at 5:00 p.m.

Be sure to stop at Moe’s Joe for a hot beverage to complement the evening. Moe’s is located at 155 N. 1st St. While in this area be sure to stop at the new Snap Fitness Center at 115 N. 1^st Street.

The downtown retail businesses will be open for you to complete your last minute Christmas shopping. They include, Four Seasons Floral, 50 School Street; Mary Sue’s Doll Shop, 35 School Street; and Jus Chic, 90 School Street.

The Mini-Tree Festival at the Community Building is a definite must see. This attraction is sponsored in part by Peoples Bank. Approximately 100 three foot trees will be decorated for your enjoyment. Some will be available in a Silent Auction. Proceeds will be donated to the Christian Community in Action.

To complete your evening, you will need to take a Horse Drawn Wagon ride that begins at the Carlisle Foods Store, 190 N. 1^st Street.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

Pick up your LUC Bingo card from any of the participating businesses. Visit as many of the businesses that you can and have your LUC card validated. At the end of the evening, place your Bingo Card in the marked deposit box/basket. You may start at any business and end at any business. Please make sure that your name and telephone number is legible on the back of the card. Cards with the most boxes marked are eligible to be drawn for two $50 Chamber Bucks to be used at any Carlisle Area Business. You do not need to be present to win. Winners will be contacted.
