A Word From Carlisle Chamber President

The Carlisle Area Chamber of Commerce has been extremely busy this past year and we continue to look for ways to serve our members as well as the community. 

Our major events were once again a great success.  They included our Annual Dinner at which time we recognized a Citizen of the Year and Friend of Education.  The Chamber also helps sponsor the annual 4th of July celebration, Community Pride Night and Mini-Tree Festival/Light Up Carlisle at Christmas time.  Other activities include a Teacher Appreciation Breakfast, Golf Outing, Night at Principal Park and Community Bike Ride. 

Our Community is strategically located with easy access to State Highways 5, 65 & 69.  Carlisle is also easily accessible to Interstates 35 and 80.  Not to mention, 15 minutes from the Des Moines International Airport and 20 minutes to downtown Des Moines.  Living in a small town atmosphere, but close to so many amenities can be a good situation.

Carlisle also boosts being a Trailhead to the Summerset Trail.  This trail presently goes to Indianola which is 11 miles away.  But, will eventually link to other trails in the Metro area.  We also have an Aquatic Center that was just built a couple of years ago along with several Parks in which you can enjoy the great outdoors.

The Carlisle Community School District recently built a new Middle School that added to the excellent educational opportunities that are available.
 
Come visit Carlisle and find out how friendly our community is and that we do have a lot to be proud of even though our size, compared to other communities, is small.
