Monthly Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, April 10th, 2007  12:00 p.m. 
Middle School Tour

1. Open Meeting:

  • Tammy Davis, President, opened the meeting at 12:05 p.m. outside the Family Life Center on Carlisle School Bus #17 as members were going to tour the new Carlisle Middle School.

2. Approval of Minutes:

  • Minutes were approved

3. Treasurer’s report:

  • Jim Segreto , Treasurer, was not present.  Tammy Davis presented the Treasures report and it was approved.

4. Executive Director report

  • Website Improvements - Ethel Lee reported that she has been working with Les Hartshorn to get our web-site up-dated.

  • Directory Changes - Ethel has worked with Cindy Nelson from the Record Herald and her staff at preparing the new directory.

  • Downtown Revitalization Committee - Paulette Franklin, the Executive Director from Altoona, and Don Coates, Exec. Director of the Eastern Polk Regional Development, Inc. was at the Downtown Revitalization Committee to explain how Altoona turned their downtown area around.  
    The Revitalization Committee meets on the 4th Monday at the Chamber office at 325 Garfield at 12:00 noon.

  • Beautification Committee - Kay Scholl is going to be obtaining the last of the landscaping plants/grasses for the Van Patten corner in the next couple of weeks.  We need to get this finished so the final report can be submitted to MWA to receive the funding according to the grant we received. 

5. Carlisle Betterment report:

  • Nothing to report at this time.

6. Greater Des Moines Partnership:

  • Shar Pardubsky was not present.

7. Other reports & updates:

    1. New Memberships

  • The Cutting Edge

  • Four Seasons.

  • Mary Sue’s Salon, Wig Boutique & Doll Orphanage

  • Studio 155.

    1. Nominating:

  • Secretary position- Dan Crum has agreed to serve as assistant secretary.  

    1. Garden Party: Saturday, June 2nd  
    1. City-Wide Garage Sale - Will be held Friday & Saturday, June 15th & 16th.  Chris Pighetti is co-coordinating this event.
    2. Shaklee Conference:  Friday, June 29th

  • None.

  • None.
