1. Open Meeting and Introductions: President Davis opened the meeting at 12:06 p.m. 2. Approval of Minutes: There was not a quorum present, so approval of the minutes was tabled until the next meeting. 3. Treasurers Report: Jim
Segreto has resigned as Treasurer. Ethel
had prepared a Treasurer’s Report for May, but there was no quorum, so
will be presented at the regular Chamber meeting next week for approval. 4. Appointment of Interim Treasurer: Appointment of Ryan Meireotto, from Great Western Bank, to the Treasurer position for the remainder of this year was tabled until the regular meeting next week. 5. Web site improvements: Shared Web Site and improvements that Les Hartshorn has been working on. Directory: Cindy could not attend the meeting today, but will be bringing us the extra copies. Our new representative for Carlisle is Chyrl Stout. Grant applications: Have applied for a grant from Generals Mills, Hamburger Helper, for $15,000 for corner sign and will be applying for a grant from Prairie Meadows for $10,000 for corner sign/repairs. Annual Dinner: The Annual Dinner will be held on Sunday, January 20, 2008. Ethel will check with Rob Ash, Drake Head Football Coach, to be the guest speaker. Committee Updates:
Revitilization Committee: Ethel shared the inventory brochure of downtown businesses that are for sale. This was distributed to both banks, WCDED, City Hall, Realtors, etc. This group has been using a model guide for revitalizing small downtowns, called Welcome Back Downtown. One of the next steps to take, according to the guide, is to do a Consumer Needs Survey. We will be working on this at our next meeting which will be Tuesday, June 26th at 12:00 noon, in the Chamber office. Dee Smith shared information about the survey she is doing through Iowa Realty called ‘Why Carlisle.com.’ There are 7 questions on this survey. We will ask the entire Chamber membership next week about sharing the cost of using Survey Monkey with the City. The annual cost is $200, so the Chamber’s amount would be $100. There is no limit of how many surveys we would do in this year’s time. They also prepare a summary of the survey Beautification Committee: The hanging planters have been hung. And, the 85th Anniversary of North Park banner has been hung. 6. Old Business:
