Revitilization Committee:

Ethel shared the inventory brochure of downtown businesses that are for sale.  This was distributed to both banks, WCDED, City Hall, Realtors, etc.

This group has been using a model guide for revitalizing small downtowns, called Welcome Back Downtown.  One of the next steps to take, according to the guide, is to do a Consumer Needs Survey.  We will be working on this at our next meeting which will be Tuesday, June 26th at 12:00 noon, in the Chamber office.

Dee Smith shared information about the survey she is doing through Iowa Realty called ‘Why Carlisle.com.’  There are 7 questions on this survey.

We will ask the entire Chamber membership next week about sharing the cost of using Survey Monkey with the City.  The annual cost is $200, so the Chamber’s amount would be $100.  There is no limit of how many surveys we would do in this year’s time.  They also prepare a summary of the survey

Beautification  Committee: The hanging planters have been hung. And, the 85th Anniversary of North Park banner has been hung.

  • Project Destin - Neighbor to Neighbor Program.  Ethel mentioned that she hoped the Chamber members have had an opportunity to visit with Nathan about this program.

  • Golf Outing - Carroll Isley and Denny Woodruff were present to discuss the progress on the Golf Outing.  Was decided to ask Keith Churchill to meet with them to see how he had done this in the past.  Ethel will also call Melinda to see if she can attend the meeting.

7. New Business:

  • Consensus of the group was to have the July regular meeting be the Share Your View program.  The Greater Des Moines  Partnership will facilitate this meeting.  It will be on Wednesday, July 18th at 7:30 in the morning.
